From a personal standpoint, I've never been completely comfortable drawing or painting black people, because the "colours were hard to gauge" and "the hair was difficult to draw." Not only was this a poor excuse, but this mentally impacted my appreciation for my race and myself. So this is me breaking the mould and embracing my black people . This piece emits warmth, love, and joy that emerges with the season of summer - all of which I would hope to be with you year round.
