The simple fact is it is good to have on hand for those situations you pray never happen, and honestly, these days, it's not a bad idea to toss for help if you find yourself in a threatening situation. My neighbourhood of 43 years has never had crime ... until recently with 3 home invasions that happened while people were away; yet, I'm a firm believer in the best defence being a good offence.
