Eleonora Di Toledo Fabric

This is a reproduction of the fabric of the dress which Eleonora Di Toledo wore in the famous portrait. It's a marvellous example of Italian, Tudor / late Renaissance fabric design. The actual fabric was 'voided' velvet, a fabric which has a satin background with velvet designs on it. Since that particular type of fabric is basically unobtainable nowadays - there's, to my knowledge, only one company in the world that still weaves this type of fabric, at a whooping cost of $500+ per yard - this "just" printed fabric may be a good alternative if you're "just" after the look and don't need the authentic material. The fabric is printed at the approximate size of the original fabric and the height repeat is 36 inches. This particular version is a 'mock velvet and golden design'; it imitates the velvet (with tiny 'hairs' in the print) as well as the golden parts of the fabric with rows of golden loops.

Love this site, as there is such a selection that I was able to make eight unique dance totes for my dancers..... This fabric is a nice weight for making masks that hold up nicely. Absolutely LOVED this print! Customized it for my workplace and will be making masks for everyone! Printing turned out fabulous. I’ve made lots of fabric purchases on Zazzle but this one was my favourite and turned out the best. I will be ordering more of it soon!!!!
