Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Postcard

Yellow eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus), the South Carolina state butterfly, drinking necter from yellow flowers. Males are yellow, females can be yellow or black with colourful splotches. The dark females resemble another butterfly, Pipevine Swallowtails. Pipevines eat a plant called pipevine, which makes them taste bad. Because of the similar appearance the dark eastern swallowtails are sometimes ignored as food by predators. Postcard are less expensive than greeting cards and also require less postage. Keep some on hand for all occasions.
