Back in the day, dog training took place in classrooms, where the students received paper instruction - i.e. learning to read what they needed to know, rather than be told, plus they were expected to abide by the school dress and behaviour codes, just like any student of the time. (There’s a heck of a lot of illiterate dogs running around today, so I think we should get back to that earlier form of dog training).
