Although there are still certain dance moves that come and go in and out of style, it has been a while since anyone has spoken about a real "dance craze". Back in the 1950s and 1960s, dance crazes were rife, and knowing the latest moves was vital to any teenager's cool. The Twist is one of the more famous Sixties dance crazes, largely because it was relatively easy to learn, and because it was so distinctive and quintessentially Sixties. Songs involving the Twist were released by big names up to and including The Beatles, although Chubby Chequered was probably the most prolific Twist-related singer.
