The 8th plate from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), depicts Discomedusae. The central medusae are Desmonema annasethe; Haeckel named them after his wife Anna Sethe, who died the year before Haeckel observed the organism. Discomedusae is a taxonomic group (subclass of the Scyphozoa) of jellyfish.
