The Desert Battle Dress Uniform is one of the most famous camouflage patterns of the US military. It is famous for its nickname: "chocolate-chip camouflage" or "cookie dough camouflage". These nicknames refer to its pattern resembling chocolate chip cookie dough.
The black on white spots were intended to imitate the appearance of rocks. It is the camouflage with the most different colors, hence its other nickname "Six-Color Desert Pattern", with six tones present.
