This version of the card contains a quotation from Idylls of the King by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and carries a message of hope that love between two people can transform not only those two, but the world around them.
(This is part of my Sapphic Stationery series of art cards. I admit that it is not wholly clear to me whether Behren's intended both people in the image to be female, even though it is easy to read them that way. Nevertheless, you have to take your historical homoeroticism where you can get it.)
