Here you have Death slipping and sliding amongst several other people on a frozen patch of ice, probably a frozen lake river or pond with the ice getting ready to break . The Dance of Death, or Danse Macabre art/ genre stylised Deaths approach of people of all stations and walks of life, reaffirming that Death is the great leveler/equalizer. They were produced as an artistic genre of religious works from the 1400s thru the 1800s, period to remind people of the fragility of their lives and how vain are the glories/pleasures of earthly life
