A little angel with a dirty face! This cute white lamb, enjoying a spring frolic in the meadow, takes a brief pause for the photo. This is a Romney sheep; animals of this breed are hardy, healthy and adaptable, with a thick, heavy fleece. This lamb is white although some Romney variations can be mottled brown or black in colour and pattern. These sheep originated in England, first recorded in the 1800's, and are favourites as livestock in several countries and regions including New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Brazil and California. This adorable baby lamb has mud on the forehead and under the eye, and a notched ear, giving a "scrappy" appearance!
