Cute Black Capped Chickadee Wild Birds Nature Magnet

The chickadee is a familiar visitor to bird feeders and gardens. The black-capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) is native to North America. She has a special talent that she shares with only a couple of other birds. Chickadees usually won't nest in regular bird boxes, but may be more inclined if you put in some sawdust, before the birds have settled in. They will take out the sawdust, much like they'd do in a hollow tree, and assuming conditions are right, they accept the nesting box. The black-capped chickadee is the state bird of Maine and Massachusetts in the United States, and the provincial bird of New Brunswick in Canada.
