I'm impressed with the thickness of the pad and then the fineness of the surface for the image. This is better quality than I expected for a novelty item. I wouldn't hesitate to gift this to a friend or family member. Considering the photo I had to work from wasn't a crisp one to begin with, I was very impressed with the quality and fineness of the enlargement onto the mouse pad.
