Cupid With a Butterfly (by Bouguereau) Jigsaw Puzzle

This design features a painting by the French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825–1905). It depicts Cupid, who is the ancient Roman god of desire, sensual love, attraction and affection. Cupid is the son of the love goddess Venus and the god of war Mars. The Greek counterpart to Cupid is Eros. The god is depicted here as a young boy with white wings and brown curly hair. A butterfly has landed on the boy's arm and he is gracefully removing it with his fingers. The bow and arrows that Cupid traditionally used to target lovers can be seen in the background. The boy is seated on a water fountain in a verdant garden where there are grass and plants and trees growing. The original artwork was painted by William-Adolphe Bouguereau in 1888.
