This design was inspired by how Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) feels. CRPS/RSD which was 1st documented in the US during the Civil War is a neurologically based chronic pain disorder with no cure and few effective treatments, none of which work for all patients afflicted with the condition.
