Crown Mines, Botallack, Cornwall, England. Postcard

Built to mine lodes of Copper ore, Tin and Arsenic far under the Atlantic Ocean in the St. Just district on the north coast of Cornwall; Crowns Engine Houses, Botallack Mine. Worked before 1721 and closed in 1814. The lower pumping house was built in the 1830s and the upper winding house (Pearce’s) in 1858.
