About This Design

Crispus Attucks: Martyr of American Revolution

Crispus Attucks: Martyr of American Revolution

Crispus Attucks, a courageous figure of mixed African and Native American descent, is often hailed as the first martyr of the American Revolution. Born around 1723 in Framingham, Massachusetts, Attucks faced the harsh realities of slavery early in his life. However, he managed to escape and found work as a sailor, navigating the waters of the Atlantic. - In the tumultuous year of 1770, tensions between British soldiers and Boston colonists were reaching a boiling point. On March 5th, a confrontation erupted on King Street, fuelled by resentment and growing unrest. Attucks, a prominent figure in the crowd, stood defiantly against the British troops. When the soldiers opened fire, Attucks was among the first to fall, his life tragically cut short. - His death ignited a firestorm of protest and galvanized the American Revolution. Attucks became a symbol of resistance against tyranny, a beacon of hope for those fighting for freedom and equality. His legacy continues to inspire, reminding us of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in the pursuit of a just and equitable society.

I mailed it straight to the baby's mother. She said she loved it. This was the big card. My niece put it on the mantle for a decoration for the baby's birthday party. I did see a picture of it and it looked like turned out very cute.
