cool skull art holiday card

This is one of my top favourite pieces of art of all time, by any artist. My husband made it. It features a human skull intricately shaded with cross-hatching. A light blue splash background softly brings a bit of contrast to the gold setting sun, which actually serves to double as the skull's cranium! The eyes are deep seas overflowing with saltwater tears when you look closely. The bone that would normally go between the eye sockets has been replaced with full sails of a ship. Inside the skull's mouth, a multidimensional diamond glistens. Was it lost treasure? Buried? Has the treasure always been within ourselves? Ponder the mysteries of life, of the sea, and of the universe as you enjoy this piece. Every detail is important-- note the seagulls just over the sails, and how the sailor still has all his teeth, despite the upper mandible being cracked. Absolutely stunning!
