The Great Comet of 1996, Hyakutake. The image is in the public domain. It was created by NASA. Print inspired by a great friend of mine, Zenya. The comet was very bright in the night sky and was widely seen around the world. It passed very close to Earth, one of the closest approaches of the previous 200 years. It had the longest tail known for a comet.
