Colourful Umbrellas in Vieux Hull Québec Postcard

A bright plethora of open colourful umbrellas sail over Place Aubry, a pedestrian walkabout in Vieux Hull (Old Hull), Gatineau, Québec, Canada. You can add text if you want, just use the customize option. This multicolored umbrella art is fixed in place, but seems to be rising up to the clear blue sky. This umbrella installation is part of a number of artworks you can see during the summer in Hull (Gatineau) Quebec. There are pink umbrellas, blue umbrellas, purple umbrellas, red umbrellas, some with stripes or patterns, some solid colour. Hull, which is now part of the larger city of Gatineau, has an intriguing heritage and history, many old buildings and architecture. Hull was built on the lumber trade, industry and factories such as the E.B. Eddy Company. It was founded by an American, Philemon Wright, who called it Wrightsville. A great fire wiped out the entire downtown area in 1900, as well as many buildings on the other side of the river, in Ottawa Ontario. The settlement was rebuilt and named Hull after a town in England (nonetheless the official language of Hull is French, aka Gatinoise. It bears little resemblence to European French. C'est la vie!).
