The calendar / days of the week system uses highly contrasting colours on days next to one another - because it makes them easier to discern on a square by square calendar. And, the colour coding has other meanings which fit well with the positioning given to them on the days of the week - Monday - pink (phone calls, call backs, review calls) Tuesday - green (going places, collecting money owed on invoices - money things and going to meet with people since they are always too busy or closed on Mondays.) Wednesday - yellow (things known and review of where things stand, facts known) Etc.
