Collage Poster, Algonac Michigan Poster

Algonac is a sleepy little town on the prettiest section of the St. Clair River. These houses line its main street. You can sit at the riverside park and watch the freighters pass by. A short ferry ride across the river is Canada and Walpole Island, a Native American Reservation. Algonac was home to Gar Wood and the Chris Craft headquarters. It is noted for the Pickeral Tournament where prizes are given for the largest walleye caught . Algonac High School's mascot is the muskrat. Rumor has it that in the late 50's the muskrat was designated seafood by a Catholic priest, so the Catholic trappers could eat it during Lent.
