Lawmen around 1900 needed a dependable stove in the high country of Okanogan County near the Canadian border in Washington State, so they chose this COLE'S HOT BLAST Stove for their office. Ads of the day say its advanced technology would allow it to burn everything from corn husks to wood to coal. In fact, one of its main selling points was that it could burn cheap, soft coal with as much heat as the favored hard anthracite coal. The miners and trouble makers have all left and the ghost town remains with a few hardy inhabitants who linger on.
