Coffee Postcard

This beverage has long been associated with our social interactions, the gathering of friends, relaxation, contemplations and communications which bring us emotional and physical comforts. Thus it is logical that coffee folklore also follow this same theme. The accidental breaking of a coffee cup is viewed as the breaking of close ties and social bonds leading to a necessary rebuilding of these. Although in some cultures the breaking of a coffee cup is seen as bad luck it is more often seen in a positive light as one's opportunity to embrace upcoming change. In Egypt the accidental spilling of coffee is an indication of future happiness and good fortune.
