Codex Manesse Reinmar the Fiddler CC0716 Birthday Card
Birthday card inspired by Codex Manesse, a medieval book of love songs. The codex was written and illustrated in Germany between c. 1304 and c. 1340 for the Manesse family.
This illustration is called Herr Reinmar der Fiedler (Reinmar the Fiddler). There are also two women in the picture, but I picked out the sweet and kind looking fiddler and also asked him to play a medieval song for the 'birthday child'.
The medieval song is full of hope:
