Christmas Tree Market in Russia (Boris Kustodiev) Metal Ornament
This design features a painting by the Russian artist Boris Kustodiev (1878–1927). It shows a Christmas market in a Russian city, perhaps Moscow. There is snow on the buildings and people have come to buy their Christmas trees. A Russian Orthodox cathedral can be faintly seen in the background with its golden domes. One man can be seen struggling to lift an entire Christmas tree on his shoulder. It is a scene that captures the energy and joy of the Christmas season. The original artwork was completed in 1918.
