The cat seems to be in a very cheerful mood (tipsy perhaps), and the accompanying text reads: Here's hoping your CHRISTMAS will be THE CAT'S PAJAMAS! The phrase 'the cat's pyjamas' became popular in the U.S. in the 1920. This was the jazz era, marked by a general feeling of novelty and break with tradition. Young women, called flappers or cats, started to wear short skirts and bobbed their hair. Pyjamas for women was another new and interesting phenomenon.
