Jenny Nyström, Barn i släde (Children in a sleigh), 1909. Christmas postcard inspired by a colourful lively Christmas painting by Swedish artist Jenny Nyström (1854 – 1946). The picture shows two young children in a festive sleigh, drawn by two magnificent horses. The horses, adorned with plumes, tassels, and necklaces made of lots and lots of bells (imagine the sound!), appear to be running at a fast pace. In the background is a beautiful winter forest, with snow covered tree branches. Behind the trees the sun is setting, colouring the sky in a saturated orange colour.
