ABOUT THE BOAT: Known as the H-12 amongst boaters, the Herreshoff 12 (designed by Nathanael Herreshoff of Bristol, Rhode Island in 1914) is universally acclaimed as one of the finest small sailing boats of all time. Between 1914 and 1943, the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company produced 354 wooden hulls before closing its doors for good. Shortly after, the Quincy Adams Shipyard purchased the manufacturing license, producing 51 additional H-12 hulls from 1943 thru 1948. Today, Herreshoff 12's remain popular today along the east coast, primarily in and around Cape Cod and Buzzards Bay as well as other locations around the United States, Canada, England, France, Norway, New Zealand, Bermuda, and even Saudi Arabia.
