This is because this phrase in Greek is "Iesous Christos, Theou Yios, Soter", and the first letters of this phrase, "I Ch Th Y S" spell out ichthys, or fish in Greek. This shirt therefore combines the meaning of this ancient Christian proclamation in the shape of a fish.
