Christ Carrying the Cross Postcard
Little is known of Bosch's life. He left no written words. We believe he was born around 1450 based on a self portrait drawn in 1516 which shows an old man around mid to late 60's. It is believed that he was taught and trained by his father or one of his uncles. His art is known for using fantastic imagery about moral and religious concepts.
Bosch depicted the mob of the people around Christ as tormented demons. These faces are depicted as grotesque and seem to swallow up Christ.
