Chloe (by Edward Poynter) Jigsaw Puzzle

This design features a painting by the English artist Sir Edward John Poynter (1836–1919), who served as President of the Royal Academy of Arts. It depicts a beautiful woman named Chloe who is seated in an elegant portico surrounded by ancient-Roman architecture. She is holding a pair of woodwind musical instruments, like flutes, in one of her hands, and she is holding cherries in the other hand to tempt a small bird that is perched nearby. Chloe is wearing a long flowing toga-like dress and she has green sandals on her bare feet. She has neat brunette hair and she is wearing a colourful necklace. The architecture that surrounds her is painted in all kinds of beautiful colours. There are some tall flowers, including foxgloves and poppies, growing in the garden outside. The coast and the sea can be seen in the distance. The original artwork was painted by Edward Poynter in 1893.
