This design depicts the British assault on the partially completed Fort Sullivan in Charleston, South Carolina in 1776. The British fired their cannons, but the geography in the area allowed the colonists to hold on with very few casualties. The British eventually ended up retreating. This design is courtesy of the Army Centre of Military History.
