Chaotic Pendulum in State Space (Gamma=1.2) T-Shirt
Everyone has heard of chaos, but you may not know that even very simple systems can be chaotic. One of the simplest is a pendulum driven by an external force. If it is driven at its natural frequency with some damping it exhibits the period doubling route to chaos. A single parameter (the driving strength "gamma") controls the behaviour. With gamma less than 1, the pendulum makes a deterministic (non-chaotic) closed orbit in state space. This shirt shows the results for gamma=1.2. The circular-ish orbit is still there, but it is not reproducible as the pendulum makes gay sojourns into other regions of state space. This shirt is completely self documenting, including the differential equation being solved and all the parameters that generated it. With the information contained herein, you could write your own code to replicate your shirt exactly (watch out for rounding errors! (chaos joke)). Perfect for a physicist, mathematician or computer scientist on your list.

The sizing on this t-shirt runs large and is short on the length for a tall man.
The cotton quality though, is excellent.
One complaint about Zazzle is, that at the same time on one order I ordered 3 items and each was shipped separately and arrived at different times.
Only the first item, which happened to be the cheapest priced item had a tracking number.
Since the 2nd and 3rd items did not have a tracking number I didn't know if they had been shipped or when they were arriving. I like to be home to when I know that I will be expecting parcels so that porch pirates don't steal the items from my front step. Thank goodness the parcels arrived without being lost in transit and port pirates were not pirating our area on the days that the 2nd and 3rd parcels surprisingly arrived. The printing was excellent and placed exactly in position as where I designed it to be.
I would buy another t-shirt from Zazzle with the printing on it.
