It shows a wife moving into her new husbands grand house after an elegant wedding ceremony. The bride is wearing a long white dress in a traditional style. The bridegroom is wearing a traditional morning suit and tie, and he has his hand placed on a stylish red chair that looks like a throne, gesturing for his wife to be seated. There are many family members celebrating with the husband and wife, including younger children and elder relatives. Everyone is wearing their finest clothes for this special occasion. It is a joyous moment for the happy couple, one that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. The original artwork was painted in 1862.
