When package arrived, I had forgotten which design I had ordered in the "morphing mug" style so I was really surprised and pleased when, after pouring hot coffee into this unassuming solid black mug, this vibrant, intricate Celtic Knot design suddenly emerged! That is SO Cool! The design revealed when mug is filled with hot liquid is very vibrant and gives the illusion of stained glass with lots of depth. The black finish (that disappears when filled with hot liquid) was smooth and even except for around the edge wrapping to the bottom of mug, which appeared to have either a thinner coating and a few very small chips. This finish is obviously fragile and definitely calls for hand-washing!
