Charles (CM) Russell, the “cowboy artist”, created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States. He lived and worked among the cowboys and the Blood Indian tribe in his younger years. This painting is called “Whisky Smugglers - Caught With the Goods” and depicts Royal Canadian Mounted Police capturing two whisky smugglers at gun point.
