CAAS First Light Coffee Mug

A young astronomer's first light. Taken by Chris Lasley, Central Arkansas Astronomical Society at a public star party. There are few things more rewarding for an avid observer than introducing others, particularly youngsters, to the night sky. True, images show more but the image in a telescope is personal to the observer, involving as it does a physical connection via photons that have travelled from the source across cosmic distances to end their journey upon the observer's retina. To observe is to truly witness; an image is but technological hearsay.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
