The zinnia plant, both flowers and leaves, were used by many southwestern tribes as medicinal and ritual herbs. Some have said that the Navajo tribe considers the zinnia one of the sacred life medicines. Still other, Pueblo, tribes are thought to believe the zinnia a symbol of wisdom. The zinnia, itself, is representative of lasting friendship, constancy and affection. The white zinnia, specifically, is symbolic of goodness and purity of heart. Until 1957, when it was replaced by the peony, the zinnia also had the distinction of being Indiana's State Flower. The beautiful bloom makes this a fabulous choice of designs for a business card. The bloom is featured on a pale, spring green backdrop. You may change the colour of the background and, of course, will want to change the information on both the front and back of the card.
