For a recent vacation, we decided to leave the highway and explore scenic byways through the Rocky Mountains. One of those byways led us across the Grand Mesa, the largest flat top mountain in the United States. There are 300 lakes on top of in this mesa. This photograph was taken near a rustic visitor's centre.
