I’ve created this product line on Zazzle in honour of a friend. She’s on the other side of a very difficult decision. I’d like to honour her and her decision and let her know that I hope to be half as strong as she is! BRCA gene mutations lead to a 35% to 45% increase in a woman’s potential to be diagnosed with cancer…not just ovarian cancer or breast cancer but a plethora of other cancers. Having the genetic testing done is a hard choice…many of us would rather not know (…or is that fear?). If you manage to find your courage, a gene mutation validation is followed by having to make a hugely personal and emotionally draining decision that leaves that person walking around with a silent killer OR puts them on a path that ends up with them “mourning the loss of parts of themselves”. Neither of these choices are easy. Neither of them would make you feel good at the immediate moment in time…no one knows what’s best. Only the person with the diagnosis will know what is best for their soul. It’s not our place to judge them, to shame them or to make an already traumatizing life choice more difficult. WE as loving friends and family can only love and support them in their decisions. Let's shout out to all of the WARRIOR sisters in life…CONGRATULATIONS for having the COURAGE to make this extremely difficult and personal decision, you are loved!
