Most people know the story of William Tell, the archery marksman who was made a bet that he couldn't shoot an apple off of someone's head. Of course, when he agreed to challenge the bet, his enemies made him shoot the apple off the head of his very own son, making it even more difficult for poor William. Fortunately for he and his son, he nails the apple with his arrow rather than his son's face! This graphic is a funny and rather silly looking reinterpretation of this classic story. It depicts a figure in the foreground wearing a green shirt and brown pants, and bound with some sort of ropes. His face displays a wide and silly grin, and a ripe red apple is perched on his head. Behind him, a target looms, although where the bull's eye would be traditionally, the bright red circle of the apple has replaced it. People in today's society often wonder why they are unsatisfied with their own lot in life, with their daily, boring routine that seems to never change. Dead end careers, overwork, the demands of a family.everyday life can be overwhelming and sometimes unsatisfying. Because of this, many people find hobbies and things with which to occupy their time that give them a better grasp on their purpose and reason for dealing with the worries of life. But one of the best ways that people choose to get out of the mundane reality of the rat race and the daily grind is to take a risk. Taking risks is something that comes naturally for some and only with difficulty and effort for others. The fact is, some people are more content staying at home, staying in their comfort zone, and never peaking out to look at the wide world that surrounds everyone. It can sometimes be difficult to get out and interact with a new place, new people, and new ideas. But there are people who can't seem to get enough. Often called thrill seekers or something equivalent, this type of person constantly seeks out risks, seeks out dangerous and exciting pursuits, and doesn't stop until they have done everything they can think of, or until it kills them. They are, some would argue, brave. Others, however, would say that they are just imprudent. This graphic emphasizes the idea that sometimes you need to take risks in order to get yourself out of your comfort zone and give yourself more confidence. Of course, it is a funny way of doing so considering the fact that the figure who is bearing the apple upon his head is tied to the target, and seems to be participating regardless of his own desires.
