Bonifacio France Postcard

Bonifacio is a fortress town located at the southern tip of the island of Corsica, perched atop sheer white chalk cliffs that have been hollowed out by the wind and waves. The town’s narrow streets and ancient buildings look down from a height of 70 metres onto the turquoise Mediterranean. Approaching Bonifacio by boat through its long, fjord-like harbour is one of the most impressive nautical arrivals in Europe. An overhead view captures the incredible geometry of the citadel clinging to the edge of the precipice, while a sailboat navigates the narrow channel below.
