Boiga dendrophila or mangrove snake postcard

Boiga dendrophila, commonly called the mangrove snake or gold-ringed cat snake, is a species of rear-fanged colubrid from southeast Asia. It is one of the biggest cat snake species, averaging 6–8 feet (1.8–2.4 m) in length. Mostly nocturnal, it is a potentially aggressive snake. Though it may appear quite docile by day it should not be approached too closely as some specimens may be unpredictable in temperament. feeding on other vertebrates including rodents, small birds and their eggs, frogs, bats and sometimes other snakes. It is also an adept swimmer.
