This design features a painting by the American artist George Caleb Bingham (1811–1879). It shows a small wooden boat with three men sailing on the Missouri River, which is the longest river in the United States. George Caleb Bingham fought on the Unionist side during the American civil war. The original artwork was painted in 1846.
