I got to see my grandparents a couple weeks ago and they are absolutely amazing people. They suffer from Alheimers and often don't know where they are or what's going on, but their spirit is unbreakable. Warm, polite, and funny as ever, they were cracking jokes about being hungry or being short, as well as being supportive about my writing career and as ever, incredibly loving. I'm so grateful I got to spend some time with them. I made this drawing in pencil before we left for Texas and was able to give it some colour while we were there. I popped it into a frame and gave it to them so they could see it over and over again and know that they are loved.
