A classic, traditional motif with a whimsical new twist! The re-imagined Blue Willow artwork on this mug features one of my "Isle of Animals" designs. This island scene is enlivened with floral - decorated tortoises and spotted turtles whales in the sea, flying phoenix birds, stylized trees, and a pagoda. My hand painted watercolor art looks like antique transferware. In timeless blue and white, it can be paired with any similarly-coloured dinnerware. Perfect for anyone who loves turtles, reptiles, wildlife, animals and nature, and is a great accent for crisp blue decor or chinoiserie patterned themes. I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
