The Seashore's Finest Train... The Blue Comet was a named passenger train operated by Central Railroad of New Jersey from 1929 to 1941 between the New York and Atlantic City. The train and its engines were painted in Packard Blue to suggest the sea and the sky. The passenger cars all had a cream band running the length of the side at the windows to evoke the sand of the shore. The paint scheme was unusual, since the road name did not appear on each car. Rather only the name of the train "THE BLUE COMET" appeared in gold lettering on the letter board. Each car was named for a different comet.

This 15 oz. mug is a fine tribute for a great train of yesteryear and will make a terrific gift for a rail-fan, model railroader, or historian. It can be used as an attractive shelf-sitter or an eye-catching frame for a good cup of coffee. It was well-packed and quickly shipped. An overall good value but would have preferred it crafted in the U.S.A. The image on 15 oz. mug appears to be from promotional literature and is artfully done. Letters under main photo and in smaller photo are rather small and appear a bit fuzzy. The ceramic shape, form and finish is well done, and the blue "ringer" accents nicely compliment the image and theme.
