Postcard inspired by a beautiful, serene portrait of Mary (The Blessed Virgin, 1583). Artist is the Neapolitan Scipione Pulzone, also called Il Gaetano, active in Italy in the second half of the 16th century. He was especially esteemed for his portrait paintings, displaying high artistic quality in the rendering of details. His artistry also inspired the Roman Catholic cult of devotion to Our Lady of Providence. On the back of the postcard some words that seemed to complement the picture: Gentle heart, Bless us with your peace Personalize the postcard simply by typing over the example texts.
