Bl. Titus Brandsma (1881-1942): Born in The Netherlands. As a Carmelite priest he taught philosophy and was a professional journalist. In the 1930’s he fought for the freedom of Catholic education and the Catholic press. For this he was arrested and was killed at Dachau in 1942. (Painting from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Kenosha, Wisconsin, U.S.A.)
